First of all, sorry about the lack of a post yesterday. No excuses. I just didn’t get to it.
I just came back from Station of the Cross at St. Bernard Church. Since it is spring break at Keene State, there were no students, but we had three others show up. There is just something very nice and intimate about praying the Stations in a small group. Everyone actually gets to walk around and genuflect, rather than pirouetting in the pew and trying to avoid getting your foot stuck under the kneeler. Now, the actual physical Stations at St. Bernard are nothing to write home about (and so, also nothing to blog about). The bass reliefs are painted a glossy white, so that it is difficult to make out the detail. I would love to see an artist come through and paint them so that you can see the details. I tried to photograph them, but couldn’t get a good picture. I did however find a nice picture of the painting over the altar which was restored a couple of years ago.
