Wednesday Podcast Review: The Catholic Underground.

If you are a bit of a geek who likes to learn more about technology, gadgets, Web2.0 you will like this podcast which covers technology news and Catholicism.  The presenter of the podcast is Fr. Christ Decker, a priest from the Diocese of Baton Rouge, LA.  The other regulars on the show are Fr. Ryan Humphries, a priest from the Diocese of Alexandria, LA (got to love Skype!) and Josh Leblanc, a layman who works in Information Technology.

What I love about this podcast is that it is a bunch of guys talking about something they obviously enjoy – technology, gadgets, new programs, apps, etc.  Yes they also talk about faith and Catholicism, because that is who they are.   Some topics discussed in recent episodes are the Skype tie in to Facebook, e-readers, WiFi technology,  CatholiCon,  the Basilica of St. John Lateran using iPod Touches for their tours, but also Catholic news like the Holy Father’s anniversary , the new news site created by the Vatican, and just stuff that is going on in their lives.

Anyway, the geek in me really likes this show as it “brings technology to the transmission of the Gospel.”  Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think.  And also, if you have a podcast recommendation, please leave us a comment.
