Twelve Days of Christmas, Day 3: Three French Hens

“On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me three French hens…”

Symbolism:  The three French hens stand for the three Theological Virtues:  Faith, Hope and Charity.  These virtues, which are gifts from God, are called the foundation of all Christian moral activity and are best described by the following: “By faith, we believe in God and believe all that he has revealed to us and that Holy Church proposes for our belief. By hope we desire, and with steadfast trust await from God, eternal life and the graces to merit it. By charity, we love God above all things and our neighbor as ourselves for love of God. Charity, the form of all the virtues, ‘binds everything together in perfect harmony’ (Col 3:14)”

Your Mission:  Pray for God to bless you with each of these virtues today.

Bonus Points:  You probably are already gifted with one or all of these virtues; take this spiritual gifts inventory to see what specific talents and gifts God has given you that you can use to further His kingdom!
